This is my finished illustration for our Illustrationfriday.com assignment. The theme was "pattern." My keyword was "shame." It needs some tweaking, which is incidentally what I'm thinking the new name of this blog should be, but this is more or less finished. I'd like to add more of a 3-D feel to the dog's body with some shading, but I couldn't figure out the best way to do that in the time I had. The wallpaper and the rug both represent patterns in the literal sense here, but I'm guessing our canine friend has a pattern of bad behavior, too. And he does seem to be conveying some shame in his eyes. Or, maybe he just hates the rug?
