Really, really rough drafts

These are my really preliminary sketches for the IllustrationFriday.com "Pattern" project. My key word is shame. So, I need to make an illustration that illustrates pattern and shame. Here are some early thoughts and jotted down sketches. They're super light - but hopefully you can see enough to figure out what they are...

Here's my final version of the helmet design - given more time, I'd like to tweak it, but it's due today, so this will have to do! I wanted to combine the two pink colors into something that looked like ribbons, similar to the pink ribbon that's the symbol for the For the Cure campaign. Hope you like it!

Sarah Fisher helmet contest

Our latest assignment was to enter a contest to design race car driver Sarah Fisher's helmet for an upcoming race in Miami. The design had to match the pink suit she's wearing in support of Susan G. Komen For the Cure. Here are my sketches - very rough!

Bonus edition

Decided to add some color to the main logo - used the same IU-ish maroon on the edges, but put each of the colors from the logos in the middle. Looks spicy, I think...

The Final Countdown

No, not the awesome song by Europe, but the countdown to turning in my first assignment of the semester for CGT 251! Here's the end result - each logo in three sizes, with bonus grayscale versions! There are two versions of the Interior Design Technology logo, simply because it looks more like the others without the r, so I wanted to do one that way just to see how it looked.

Here are the latest versions of the ever-evolving logo assignment. I'm pretty happy with the design - I wanted something professional and clean, but something that conveys creativity, which hopefully the right-justified text and different colors do. A rectangular shape seemed more professional to me, but the rounded corners make it not so harsh. The colors need some tweaking, but these made for a cool set in the color picker I used. The one at the bottom is the alternate of the INT logo, with the R. I'm not sure if I like the text inside or outside of the shape...any opinions?

A few more tweaks, and a complete set of logos for each discipline (bonus extra for intr)

New logo attempt

I've been playing with the logo design for the Design and Communications Technology department. I went with something lower case this time, and tried to come up with a distinctive lettermark that would be recognizable without the words. I've played around with the colors, and the placement of the words. What do you think?

Logo rough drafts

This is my first attempt at a logo for the Department of Design and Communication Technology and each of its programs. The color may change to a blue, or may be tweaked to match the IU/IUPUI maroon. And I may totally toss these out in favor of something else! Hope you like 'em!
